Spring season details
When does the season start?

Spring season starts in late February and runs until early May. The league pauses for spring break. Registration closes January 11.
What is the format?

Players practice in teams during the week (6U and 8U once a week, 10U and 12U twice a week). Games are played on Saturdays.
Can new players join?

New and experienced players are welcome! Experienced coaches and assistants can support players learning to play for the first time, as well as return players looking to improve their skills.
What are the age groups?
4
6U: 5 or 6 on Sept 1, 2025 (usually grades K-1 )
8U: 7 or 8 on Sept 1, 2025 (usually 2nd & 3rd grade)
10U: 9 or 10 on Sept 1, 2025 (usually 4th & 5th grade)
12/14U: 11-14 on Sept 1, 2025 (usually 6th to 9th grade)
What is the fee?

Our mission
OGSL’s is 501(c)(3) nonprofit whose mission is to provide organized fast pitch softball to girls between the ages of 5-14 in the Oakland, CA community with the overall goal of promoting sportsmanship, developing individual skills, encouraging friendship, and providing leadership opportunities via a fun and positive athletic experience. Self-funded through member registration and sponsorship donations, OGSL is a volunteer run, equal opportunity organization affiliated with USA Softball.
